TROY – Troy University’s College of Communications and Fine Arts will host its Sounds of the Season Concert at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 30 in the Claudia Crosby Theater.
“Illuminations” will feature performances from the Trumpet Ensemble, Chamber Choir, Symphony Band, Gospel Choir, Theatre Ensemble, Collegiate Singers and the Jazz Quartet. Solos will be performed by Michael Hix (vocal) and Ashley Swenning (flute).
Maryjo Cochran, dean of the CCFA, explained that the concert embraces all areas within the College of Communication and Fine Arts. Cochran said the art department was responsible for the ticket and poster design, and the journalism department pitched in to help with publicity.
“Everyone in fine arts has a role to play in it,” said Cochran.
This holiday celebration will conclude with the lighting of the Christmas tree in front of the Claudia Crosby Theater.
“This is a perfect time for students to take a break and enjoy our Christmas gift to them,” Cochran said.
Tickets for the general public are $5. Students can exchange a canned good for free admittance. All tickets are available only in advance through the Trojan Center Box Office (670-3293).
