MONTGOMERY – Nursing students at Troy University’s Montgomery Campus are joining hands with the Mid-Alabama Coalition for the Homeless to encourage donations for blankets for the homeless.

Jean Battaglia, an associate professor of nursing in TROY’s associate of science nursing program, said the Montgomery Campus will serve as a drop-off site for blanket donations.

“Anyone can donate a blanket by mailing it to us or dropping it by the lobby of Whitley Hall,” Battaglia said.

Sponsored by the Troy University School of Nursing Associate of Science in Nursing Program Honor Society, the blanket drive will begin on Nov. 20 and run through Dec. 1. Montgomery Mayor Bobby Bright has proclaimed November as Blankets for the Homeless Month.
