TROY creates edible art for public tasting

TROY – Troy University’s College of Communication and Fine Arts will be creating delicious artwork to feed the public at the Incredible Edible Art event on Oct. 9 at 7 p.m.

Faculty and staff from the College of Communication and Fine Arts will prepare foods in an artistic manner for the public to view and then sample.

“It’s kind of similar to a casual buffet,” said Dean Maryjo Cochran.

Cochran said the event was held last year, and its initial purpose was to provide a fun evening for the faculty and staff.

“This year we are opening it up to the public as a fundraiser.  All of the money raised will go to the Troy Arts Council.  It’s a way for us to give back to them for being so generous,” Cochran explained.

In addition to the wine and food sampling, entertainment will be provided by the Jazz Ensemble and the Collegiate Show Choir.

The evening will conclude with the announcement of the most tastefully created dishes as judged by the Troy Arts Council.

Tickets for a taste of Incredible Edible Art are $8 per person or $15 per couple and should be requested ahead of time by calling 670-3851.  The event will be held at the Troy Arts Council Studio off Elm Street.
