EDITORS/NEWS DIRECTORS: Mr. Huo Baozhu, of Xi’an, China, will be on the Troy Campus on Oct. 5 to officially present the bronze ‘Thinker’ statue which he created for the University. The receiving ceremony will begin at 10 a.m.

Mr. Hou Baozhu’s company, De Run International Trading Co., Ltd., formerly Five Rings International Trade Co., Ltd., is known as a leader in bronze reproductions and ranks first among the members of the Chinese Cultural Relics Association. The company employs more than 500 workers including three nationally recognized designers, six specialty sculptors and 21 engineers. Five Rings has been appointed by the Peoples’ Republic of China’s central government to provide exports gifts to 11 countries, including Great Britain and the United States. Mr. Hou’s work can also be found at the Lexington, Kent. City Hall and the Cincinnati International Airport. Historic Chinese reproduction art and original artwork is found in museums, private organizations and private collections throughout the world.

Mr. Hou’s affiliation with United States-based organizations such as TROY comes as the result of his treatment in the United States of a medical condition. He attributes his recovery and life to the physicians and educational institutions of the United States.
