Sammi Jo Welk of Slocomb is the recipient of the Jim and Glenda Rose Scholarship. Welk is majoring in pre-professional biology at Troy University. The Rose Scholarship is a tuition- waiver scholarship available to a student at the Dothan Campus. The recipient of this scholarship must be a graduate of an Alabama public school, must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 at graduation from high school and on all college work completed, must demonstrate financial need and must work a full- or part-time job.
