“A Christmas Carol” comes to Troy University

TROY – Uncle Scrooge will have the run of Troy University’s Claudia Crosby Theatre Friday when the Troy Arts Council hosts “A Christmas Carol.”

The one-night-only performance begins at 7:30 p.m. and is suitable for children of all ages. The production is co-sponsored by Troy Bank and Trust in cooperation with the John M. Long School of Music and the College of Communication and Fine Arts.

The musical production features traditional Christmas carols and is on national tour.

“I can tell you that this is a first class, professional production that will be the largest we’ve ever had,” said Stephanie Baker, an Arts Council volunteer.  “The costumes and scenery are supposed to be absolutely beautiful and this will actually be a musical version of the Charles Dickens play so we expect to hear the beautiful classic carols that we all know and love.”

Tickets are available at the John M. Long School of Music and at WTBF radio on the Square in downtown Troy. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students. Group discounts are also available.
