MEDIA ADVISORY: Commencements
   

Commencement set for Friday


Dec. 14: Fall commencement begins at 10:30 a.m. in Sartain Hall with about 400 graduates participating. General James Conway, a native of Walnut Ridge, Ark. and the nation’s 34th Commandant of the Marine Corps, will deliver the commencement address. Gen. Conway, a four-star Marine general, commanded Marine forces during Iraqi Freedom.
 
Media are requested to be in place in Sartain Hall by 10 am. Reserved seating for the working members of the media will be located at the scorers’ table and the row immediately behind the scorers’ table. Parking the event will be in the lot adjacent to Sartain Hall, or elsewhere on campus as is commonly available.
 
At 2 p.m., an Army ROTC commissioning ceremony will be conducted in Sorrell Chapel.
 

Dothan Campus commencement is Sunday


Dec. 16: Troy University’s Dothan Campus will confer degrees on approximately 260 students during commencement exercises Sunday at the Dothan Civic Center. Velma Tribue, chair of the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce, will deliver the keynote address during the 3 p.m. ceremony.
 

Montgomery Campus commencement is Monday
 

Dec. 17: Troy University’s Montgomery Campus will confer degrees during two commencement ceremonies Monday in the Davis Theatre for the Performing Arts. Graduate commencement is at 5 p.m. and undergraduate commencement is at 7 p.m. Mr. Todd Strange, chairman of the Montgomery County Commission will deliver the commencement address.
