DOTHAN – Troy University welcomes Kathy Farley as the coordinator of business and industry training at the Continuing Education Center on the Dothan Campus. In her new role, Farley will help meet the educational needs of area businesses and individuals.

The TROY Continuing Education Center serves nearly two-thousand people annually through certificate programs, seminars and special events. The Center offers everything from OSHA certification to classes on real estate, computers and health and wellness.

Farley plans to work closely with Mary Davis, Continuing Education Center coordinator of professional development, to create a number of new programs in the coming year.

“We are always looking for new ideas to help people advance,” Farley said. “Many of our certificate programs are designed for individuals, who want to enhance their jobs skills, so they can move up the career ladder.”

Other priorities include growing the Continuing Education Center’s non-profit administration certification program and working to organize an upcoming conference for the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI). The event, which is designed for mental health professionals, social workers, alcohol and drug abuse counselors, care givers and others, is scheduled for January 25 on the Dothan Campus.

Farley’s experience includes five years at the Continuing Education Center in a key support role. She also worked as a senior production planner at Minolta-QMS in Mobile.

A graduate of TROY, Farley holds a Master of Science in Human Resource Management. She also earned a Bachelor of Science in Business and Organizational Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Art from the University of Mobile.
