TROY, Ala.—Troy University alumna and Florida Department of Education/Macy’s 2007 Teacher of the Year Conney Dahn will be the guest speaker at the TROY College of Education’s Brown Bag Lunch on March 15.

The event will run from noon to 12:50 p.m. in the second floor student lounge of the Trojan Center on the Troy Campus.

Dahn, who has been an educator for more than 30 years, earned her master’s degree in special education/mental retardation from TROY in 1984. In 2003, she earned the national Board Certification Needs Specialist in Early Childhood through Young Adult.

Dahn currently teaches severely disabled students at Jensen Beach High School in Martin County. She challenges her students to work toward independence, accentuating employability skills, inclusion with students without disabilities and functional literacy skills. Her goal is for students with disabilities to graduate ready for the real world with the ability to live productive and fulfilling lives with the greatest degree of independence possible.
