Troy University’s Phenix City Campus launches Operation DVDs Overseas

PHENIX CITY—Troy University’s Phenix City Campus is offering area military families the opportunity to send recorded video messages to their loved ones serving overseas through its Operation DVDs Overseas.

Through the program, families are invited to set up appointments to come to the Phenix City Campus on March 12 and 14 to record a 10-minute message. A DVD of the message will then be sent by the University to the loved one serving overseas with a copy also being supplied to the family.

The messages will be taped from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day with roughly 100 spots available by appointment only, according to Tessa Brown, project coordinator.

“Troy University has had a long partnership with the military, and we view this as an opportunity to reach out to and show support for the military families in our community,” Brown said. “This is open to families in our community, and we want to encourage those with loved ones in the military who are currently serving overseas to call and make an appointment.”

According to Brown, the messages will be filmed in the Campus’ Live-Class-on-Tape studio classrooms located in room 138 and 139 of the Education Building. Columbus Tape and Video is partnering with the University in the effort.

To schedule an appointment, contact Brown at 334-448-5111 or by e-mail at tsbrown@troy.edu.
