MEDIA ADVISORY: Presidential advisor to speak at Troy University

EDITORS/NEWS DIRECTORS: On Thursday, March 15, Mr. Karl Rove, advisor to President George W. Bush, will be speaking at 11 a.m. in Claudia Crosby Theater on the Troy Campus as part of the M. Stanton Evans Symposium of the Hall School of Journalism.

No press availability is scheduled for Mr. Rove. However, Hall School of Journalism faculty members will be available for post-speech interviews.

Media outlets are encouraged to cover Mr. Rove’s speech to the Symposium, however. Due to the nature of this speaker, special provisions are planned to accommodate your coverage. If you plan to cover this event, please contact the University Relations Office for details. While credentialing will not be required, the University expects a capacity crowd for the speech and we need to know your coverage requirements in advance. We will reserve seating based on your response to this advisory. We will release any unoccupied seats in the media section to the general public at 10:45 a.m. Please have all cameras in place inside Crosby Theater no later than 10:30 a.m.

Specifically, please provide us with the following information: number of reporters, photographers and videographers, vehicles, satellite/microwave trucks (with clearance requirements), and any special requirements (such as power, length of cable runs, etc.).

Please respond (no later than 11 a.m. Wednesday) via email to clusk@troy.edu or call Clif at 334-670-5888 or via cell at 334-268-9982.

There will be no parking available in front of Claudia Crosby Theater, or along University Avenue. Parking accommodations will be made on response.
