President of Chinese university to visit Troy this week

TROY—Wu Chuanxi, (Woo Chun-SHEE) President of Hubei University of Wuhan, China, will visit Troy University March 30-31. Members of the media are invited to meet/interview President Wu at 2 p.m. Friday, March 30, in the Chancellor’s Office, 216 Adams Administration Building.

Hubei University is partner institution with Troy University in the 1-2-1 Program, which allows students from partner Chinese universities to study their first year in China, spend their sophomore and junior years in Troy and then return home to China to complete their degree. Currently, 234 students from China are enrolled in the 1-2-1 Program, including seven from Hubei University. In addition, one faculty member from Hubei University, Feng Wei (Fang Way), is a visiting professor at Troy University this year.

President Wu’s schedule also includes meeting with deans and administrators and visiting with students from China. Translation will be provided during the visit with media.
