TROY— The Troy University College of Communication and Fine Arts will present two dinner theatre productions in April.
The productions, “Forever Plaid” and “Nunsense,” will show in the Trojan Center Theatre at 7:30 p.m. “Forever Plaid” will run April 13, 19 and 21, with “Nunsense” running April 12, 14 and 20. A performance of “Forever Plaid” will also run on Friday, April 20 for area high school students.
The audience will receive a diverse menu selection each night, with a meal prepared by University Executive Chef Michael Benca, a graduate of Johnson and Wales University with a degree in culinary arts. Benca has been the executive chef in several country clubs and restaurants, a teaching assistant for Johnson and Wales University at Rhode Island and a culinary arts instructor at Virginia College in Birmingham.
Dinner will be served from 6:30 p.m. until 7:15 p.m. Non-dinner guest will be admitted at 7 p.m. into the Trojan Center Theatre.
“Forever Plaid” is one of the most popular and successful musicals recently with delightful choreography and a program of favorite songs. It centers on four young male singers killed in a car crash and miraculously revived for another chance to fulfill their dreams and perform the show that never was.
“Nunsense” is a musical comedy that has become an international phenomenon with more than 5,000 productions worldwide. This musical comedy is about the Little Sisters of Hoboken who discover their fellow nuns have been accidentally poisoned. They are in need of funds for the burials and decide to raise money by putting on a variety show.
Both productions will be directed by Adena Moree, director of Troy University Theatre.
Tickets for the dinner and one show are $35. A two-person package for both shows and dinner is $135. A table of eight for dinner and one show is $250. Tickers for show audience only are $10 for general admission and $5 for Troy University students with I.D. Tickets are available in the Trojan Center Box Office (334) 670-3293.
