Troy University sets aside homecoming queen court election
TROYTroy University has set aside its election for its 2007 homecoming queen court due to apparent voting irregularities. A new election has been scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 16, according to Herb Reeves, dean of student services.

On Wednesday, Oct. 3, TROY students cast votes for the homecoming queen court via an online voting system, which was used earlier in the year for Student Government Association elections. The new procedure calls for students to vote for the five members of the homecoming court at the Computer Works center, 164 Smith Hall, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Students will return to the Computer Works on Wednesday, Oct. 17, to elect a homecoming queen from among the five finalists. The polling hours will remain 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Reeves said the homecoming king court elections were not affected and that the election of homecoming king will be held on Oct. 17 at Computer Works.

The new queen and king will be crowned on Oct. 20 during halftime of the football game between TROY and the University of North Texas.
