Asthma Safari Coming to Troy University
TROY- Troy University’s Healthy Schools Healthy Kids program is co-sponsoring the Asthma Safari Nov. 2 from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Joel Witherington Family Center, near the intersection of North Three Notch Street and Gibb Street.

HSHK and Steps to a Healthier Alabama host the event with Charles Henderson Child Health Center, Troy University, Troy Regional Medical Center and the American Lung Association for children kindergarten through second grade who are diagnosed with asthma to help teach and encourage both children and their parents how to gain control over and manage asthma.

The program allows children to empower and recognize their own triggers and warning signs, while making it less frightening and laying the ground work for future asthma education, said HSHK nurse Lauren Kilcrease.

For more information on the Asthma Safari call Steps to a Healthier Alabama or Healthy Schools Healthy Kids at 334-566-7600.
