Mass band to perform with Sound of the South at “Band Day”
   TROY – More than 2,000 high school band members representing 28 bands from three states will perform with the 300-piece plus Sound of the South marching band during half time Saturday when the Trojans take on University of Louisiana-Monroe in Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium.

The ninth annual event involves the largest number of band members ever, said Ralph Ford, director of bands.
 
The game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. For tickets call 1-877-878-9467.
 
Also being showcased during the day will be the Sound of the South’s two jazz ensembles, which will entertain crowds on campus from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. on the front steps of the Adams Administration Building.
 
Bands scheduled to perform are: Abbeville High School, Cairo High School (Ga.), Calloway High School (Ga.), Charles Henderson High School, Clarke County High School, Cook High School (Ga.), Douglas High School, Excel High School, Florala High School, Fruitdale High School, Geneva High School, Georgiana High School, Goshen High School, Greenville High School, Headland High School, Holmes County High School (Fla.), Houston Academy, Ider High School, Luverne High School, Marion County High School (Ga.), Miller County High School (Ga.), Navarre High School (Fla.), Pell City High School, Pike County High School, South Walton High School (Fla.), Telfair County High School (Ga.), Thomasville High School and Zion Chapel High School.
