Troy University political science students weigh in on presidential politics

TROY -- Troy University political science students taped the first of a two-part series discussing issues related to the presidential campaign Wednesday.

The one-hour program, “TROY Votes” will air at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3, with repeat airings on Oct. 6 at 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Oct. 7 at 8 p.m. on TrojanVision, the University’s cable television channel. The second program will air at 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, with repeat airings on Oct. 20 at 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Oct. 21 at 8 p.m.

The format, moderated by Dr. James Rinehart, associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and former chair of the Political Science Department, brings together a group of political science students who have researched issues connected to race and who share their informed opinions in response to questions posed by Dr. Rinehart.

“The difference with this show is that the students, while offering their opinions, are doing so from an informed base. They’ve done their homework and can offer insightful perspectives with the goal of helping viewers form their own opinions,” he said, noting the program was non-partisan.

TrojanVision is carried on cable systems in Montgomery, Prattville, Selma, Wetumpka, Elmore County, Maxwell/Gunter, Troy, Brundidge, Goshen, Crenshaw County, Brantley, Luverne, Rutledge, Glenwood, Elba, Ozark, Phenix City, Columbus, GA. and online at http://www.troytrojanvision.org/ .
