October 22, 2008 Troy University to celebrate Homecoming on Nov. 8 TROY – Troy University will celebrate its Homecoming on Nov. 8 under the theme “Then, Now, Forever – Trojans.” Activities will get under way on Nov. 8 with a Homecoming Fun Run at 7 a.m. The Homecoming parade will kick off at 10 a.m. in downtown Troy and various tailgating activities will begin at 11 a.m. “Trojan Walk” is scheduled for 12:15 p.m., beginning on University Avenue in front of Trojan Arena and stretching to Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium. Homecoming pre-game festivities will get under way at 2 p.m. in the stadium and kickoff for the Homecoming game against Western Kentucky is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Halftime activities will include the crowning of the Homecoming Queen and King, the presentation of the Alumni of the Year awards and performances by the Alumni Band and TROY’s “Sound of the South” marching band. “Homecoming is always a special time for Troy University,” said Faith Ward, director of alumni affairs. “This year’s theme is ‘Then, Now, Forever – Trojans’, and we want extend a warm invitation to our alumni to return to campus, enjoy the Homecoming activities and take time to reflect on what it means to be a member of the TROY family.” During the week leading up to Homecoming, campus organizations will compete in various events to earn points toward winning Homecoming honors.
