September 24, 2009 Miss Teen Trojan Pageant set for Oct. 10 at Troy University TROY – Girls from ages 13-17 will compete for the title of Miss Teen Trojan on Oct. 10. at Troy University’s Claudia Crosby Theater beginning at 3 p.m. Miss Teen Trojan will move forward to compete in Miss Alabama’s Outstanding Teen Pageant, which is a division of the Miss America Pageant system. To enter, contestants may be 17 and a high school junior. In addition to Miss Teen Trojan, the pageant will also feature competition in Baby Miss (Birth-2 yrs old), Tiny Miss (3-4 yrs old), Little Miss (5-6 yrs old), Miss Rising Star (7-9 yrs old) and Miss Shining Star (10-12 yrs old) divisions. The winner of the Miss Rising Star division will have the opportunity to accompany Miss Troy University onstage at the Miss Alabama Pageant in June. Brenda Campbell, co-director of the event, said this pageant will help raise money so that scholarships can be awarded to the winners. “This pageant is also a wonderful way for the younger girls to get practice as they prepare to enter the Miss Teen Trojan in the future,” said Campbell. The application deadline for all entries is Oct. 1.
