Rosa Parks Museum welcomes exhibit from Pietrasanta, Italy

MONTGOMERY—An exhibit of sculptures by 24 international artists inspired by the civil rights movement will be on display at Troy University’s Rosa Parks Museum April 30 to June 30.

The exhibit, “Civil Rights: International Sculpture from Pietrasanta,” features the work of artists who reside in the multi-ethnic artistic community of Pietrasanta, Italy.

The exhibit is sponsored by the Alabama State Council on the Arts and is part of the ongoing cultural exchange between the State of Alabama and Pietrasanta that began in 2008.

Last year, a delegation of more than 40 people from Alabama traveled to Pietrasanta to present a sampling of the state’s art. This month, a delegation from Pietrasanta arrived in Alabama and will tour the state through May 2.
