February 27, 2009 Artist Brenda Joysmith to speak at TROY's Rosa Parks Museum MONTGOMERY—Artist Brenda Joysmith, renowned for her paintings celebrating African-American family life, will discuss her work during a gallery talk at Troy University’s Rosa Parks Museum on March 14.The talk will begin at 11:30 a.m. and is free and open to the public. Joysmith’s “Cultural Affirmations” exhibition has been on display at the museum since January and will continue through March 31. Her artwork gained international exposure by being featured on the sets of numerous network television series including “The Cosby Show,” “A Different World,” “Amen” and “Family Matters.” Joysmith’s paintings have also been featured in several films including “Philadelphia,” “A Preacher’s Wife” and “Love and Basketball.” Contact: |
