May 11, 2009 Troy University's Davis Theatre for the Performing Arts Announces Rescheduled Performance Date for Chicago Rhythm and Blues Kings MONTGOMERY—Troy University’s Davis Theatre for the Performing Arts reports that the previously scheduled performance of the Chicago Rhythm and Blues Kings show has been rescheduled for Friday, June 5, at 7 p.m.The Friday, Feb. 27, performance of the Chicago Rhythm and Blues Kings was postponed due to the threat of severe weather the night of the show, including tornado warnings in the surrounding area. The band will be back in Montgomery for the rescheduled performance on Friday, June 5, for one night only. All ticketed patrons, both season and single ticket holders, received a letter in the mail notifying them of this new date. Previous ticket holders were asked to keep their current tickets. Tickets for the original scheduled date of Feb. 27, will be honored for this rescheduled date. If tickets have already been discarded, tickets will be reprinted upon request. Known for their soul-steeped brand of R&B and blues, the Chicago Rhythm and Blues Kings have been performing since 1993. Prior to that, they were known as the Mellow Fellows and provided backing to soul/blues singer Big Twist until his death in 1990. The Chicago Rhythm and Blues Kings’ performance is presented as a part of the 2008-2009 Subscriber Series for Troy University’s Davis Theatre.
