Catherine Jordan chosen to chair leadership conference committee

TROYCatherine Berry Jordan has been named chair of the committee that is planning the ninth annual Leadership Conference Celebrating African-American History Month at Troy University’s Troy Campus scheduled for Feb. 5-6.

Co-sponsored by the University and the City of Troy, the Leadership Conference annually brings together civic and community leaders, clergymen and business leaders in a collaborative and educational forum. Past guest speakers have included Judge Greg Mathis, former Atlanta Mayor Andrew Young and the Rev. Joseph Lowery, former president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference

Ms. Jordan, a native of Troy and a graduate of Troy University, serves as administrative assistant for the City of Troy, where she assists the director of public relations and tourism.

“I am honored and excited to have been appointed chair for the 2010 Leadership Conference Committee,” Ms. Jordan said. “I would like to thank Mayor Jimmy Lunsford and Dr. Jack Hawkins for the opportunity to serve.  As we continue planning for the conference, we will continue to work as a team so that we can continue to grow and bring together nationally known speakers and presenters for another outstanding conference.”

Ms. Jordan is a member of the Troy United Women’s League, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Kappa Pi Omega Chapter, Advisory Board Member Clear Channel Communications, Leadership Pike Class of 2003 and Advisory Board Member Pioneer Museum of Alabama. Ms. Jordan is married to Clifford D. Jordan and is a member of Greater Saint Paul AME Church.
