November 30, 2009 Troy University prepares to crown Miss Troy University 2010 TROY- The 2010 Miss Troy University pageant is set for Jan. 30, and application packets are now available on the University’s web site. The pageant, which is in its 39th year, plays an important role in campus life, according to Pageant Director Sara Jo Burks. “This scholarship pageant provides young women with a way to showcase their talent and express their pride in Troy University,” Burks said. The pageant winner receives a crown, a full-tuition scholarship to TROY and will represent the University as a contestant in the 2010 Miss Alabama pageant held in June. Miss Troy University 2009, Marjorie Yessick, and the Miss Troy University Directors are looking forward to greeting this year’s field of contestants. “This pageant is going to be themed with school spirit and Trojan pride, after all, Miss Troy University needs to be a true Trojan,” Yessick said. Application packets should be filled out and given to Sara Jo Burks in room 100 of Shackleford Hall on the Troy Campus no later than 4 p.m. on Dec. 2.
