Dec. 1: Troy University’s Rosa Parks Museum will celebrate its eighth anniversary on Monday, Dec. 1 beginning at 7 p.m. in the Museum’s auditorium with a special presentation of She’s Got a Ticket to Ride: An Interview with Mrs. Rosa Parks by Doreen Griffin of Trenton, New Jersey.
The program begins with a short PowerPoint presentation that places the Montgomery Bus Boycott in historical perspective and uses important Civil Rights cases prior to Dec. 1, 1955, when Mrs. Parks sat in the right place at the right time to become a world symbol of human and civil rights. Rosa Parks, as portrayed by Doreen Griffin, tells of the people and events through an interview accompanied by images important to the chronicles of her life.
The event is free and open to the public. Members of the media are asked to be place by 6:30 p.m. in order to cover the event.
