Trojan Warrior statue dedication

Nov. 6, 10 a.m. (Dothan Campus): Troy University will dedicate a bronze Trojan statue on its Dothan Campus with a ceremony at the statue.

This statue is a replica of the bronze statue donated by Chinese artist Hou Bau Zhu that sits on the Troy Campus Quad and forming the centerpiece of a fountain.

Speaking at the event will be TROY Chancellor Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., Dr. Don Jeffrey, vice chancellor of the Dothan Campus, and Mr. Charles Nailen, a Dothan business leader and Troy University trustee. Mrs. Shelia Jackson, of Troy, will provide special music.

Trojan Homecoming Week

Troy University will celebrate its Homecoming on Nov. 8 under the theme “Then, Now, Forever – Trojans.” The Homecoming Queen and King will be crowned and the court presented during halftime ceremonies. Four TROY alumni will also be honored during halftime with Alumni of the Year Awards. The homecoming opponent is Western Kentucky, and pre-game activities commence at 2 p.m. with kickoff set for 2:30 p.m. in Movie Gallery Veteran’s Stadium.

6:30 p.m., Bonfire Pep Rally, Sorority Hill

Saturday, Nov. 8

  • 7 a.m., “Road Runners” Homecoming Fun Run
  • 10 a.m., Homecoming Parade, Downtown Troy
  • 11 a.m., Tailgating activities
  • 12:15 p.m., Trojan Walk, University Avenue in front of Trojan Arena
  • 2 p.m., Pre-game activities including the introduction of the Homecoming Court, Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium
  • 2:30 p.m., Homecoming football game vs. Western Kentucky
  • 7 p.m., NPHC Step Show, Claudia Crosby Theater
