Sounds of the Season is Dec. 4

TROY – Troy University’s John M. Long School of Music and the College of Communication and Fine Arts will present “Sounds of the Season: Illuminations” Thursday, Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Claudia Crosby Theater.

This year’s performance is free and open to the public but requires an admission ticket, available through the Trojan Center Box Office. The box office is located on the first floor of the Trojan Center, directly beneath the Barnes & Noble bookstore and adjacent to the fitness center. Seating for the event is limited. “Illuminations” will feature performances from the Symphony Band, Gospel Choir, Theatre Ensemble, Collegiate Singers, Concert Chorale, Show Choir, the Brass Quintet, the Jazz Combo, as well as a number of soloists.

“It’s a traditional holiday celebration but it’s quite a variety of holiday favorites,” said Dr. Larry Blocher, director of the John M. Long School of Music. “This is a College of Communications and Fine Arts holiday production with everything from theatre to a solo performers.”

Blocher said “Sounds of the Season” is offered a gift to the community.

“It’s a great way to start the holiday season,” he said.

Immediately following the concert, the campus Christmas tree lighting ceremony will take place outside Crosby Theater.
