DOTHAN—Local businesswomen will have the chance to grow professionally and personally on Jan. 22 at the Troy University and American Business Women’s Association one-day workshop at the Dothan Campus.

The “Growing a Better You” workshop is a joint venture of TROY’s Sorrell College of Business, the Continuing Education Center and the Dothan Circle City chapter of the ABWA.

The advance registration fee is $50. The workshop starts at 7:45 a.m. in the Library Technology Building and ends at 5 p.m.

“The mission of the American Business Women’s Association is to bring together businesswomen of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support and national recognition,” said Stormie Andrews, president of the ABWA Dothan Circle City Chapter.

The workshop will feature several noted business speakers, including Velma Tribue of Velma Tribue State Farm. Tribue, Chairman of the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce and a dedicated community leader, will discuss “believing in yourself.”

Also speaking will be Connor Vernon, weeknight meteorologist at WTVY News 4 in Dothan. He is also president of the consulting and marking company Crosswinds Communication and will discuss presentation skills.
