TROY – Community members, high school students and college students have the opportunity to join the TROY Symphony Orchestra.

The orchestra, coordinated by Troy University John M. Long School of Music lecturer Ginger Zingara, will begin rehearsals from 2:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11 in Long Hall on the Troy Campus.

“This group includes high school and college students, as well as adults of all ages,” Zingara said. “This group performs classical orchestral literature such as “The New World Symphony,” “In the Hall of the Mountain King,” “The Damnation of Faust,” in addition to the performance of the annual TSO/Phi Mu Alpha Concerto Competition winners.”

Orchestra openings include strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion, she said.
