Student Government Association leaders elected

TROY – Five Troy University students have been elected to lead the University’s Student Government Association.

Jonathan Davis, a junior broadcast journalism major from Montgomery, was elected president. Davis, the son of the Rev. Johnny R. Davis and Bobbie A. Davis of Montgomery, served as president of Freshman Forum, executive assistant to the SGA president and is currently SGA vice president of legislative affairs.

William H. Filmore, Jr., a sophomore business management major from Daleville, was elected SGA vice president of legislative affairs. The son of Bill and Angelia Filmore, he is a Leadership Scholar and president of Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society. He is a member of Delta Sigma Pi honorary and is secretary of the University’s chapter of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. He has previously served as a Freshman Forum director.

Morgan Hooper, a junior broadcast journalism major from Chelsea, was elected SGA vice president for campus affairs. She is currently serving as SGA secretary. Hooper is a member of Chi Omega Sorority, served as a Freshman Forum director and was selected SGA’s Woman of the Year 2008. She is the daughter of Mike and Carlene Hooper of Chelsea.

Senior athletic training major Kayla Clemons, of Gardendale, was elected SGA secretary. She has served as an SGA senator and president pro-tem of the SGA Senate. Clemons is a member of Chi Omega Sorority, the Athletic Training Club, and honor societies Iota Tau Alpha, Omicron Delta Kappa and Alpha Epsilon Delta. She is the daughter of Barry and Lisa Clemons.

Liz Dowe, a sophomore broadcast journalism major from Montgomery, was elected SGA clerk. A member of Phi Mu Fraternity who serves as ritual chair, she has served as a member of Freshman Forum and an SGA senator.
