March for Babies to be held at TROY Dothan Campus

DOTHAN – Local March of Dimes teams and individuals will hit the Harrison Walking Trails at Troy University’s Dothan Campus on Saturday, April 25, for the 2009 March for Babies event.

More than 30 Wiregrass teams will walk the trails from 8 a.m. until noon, joining with more than 900 communities across the country in support of the March of Dimes’ mission to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.

This is the third time the March for Babies has been held at the Dothan Campus.

“We are proud that the Harrison Walking Trails are hosting the event for the third year in a row and we invite everyone to come enjoy the celebration,” said Chris Bryant, assistant director of the TROY Fort Rucker site and co-captain of TROY’s March of Dimes team.

The Harrison Walking Trails are located behind Malone Hall.

Individuals can register to walk in the March for Babies the day of the event or on line at marchforbabies.org. Walkers are asked to raise or donate a minimum of $10.
