Dr. Glenda S. Curry to deliver Commencement Address at Troy University

MONTGOMERY—Dr. Glenda S. Curry, Rector of All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Homewood, will deliver the keynote address at Troy University’s Montgomery Campus commencement ceremony at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 27, in the Davis Theatre for Performing Arts on the University’s Montgomery Campus.

Prior to becoming an ordained priest in the Episcopal Church, Dr. Curry served as President of Troy University’s Montgomery Campus. She also served as Dean of Troy University’s School of Nursing. Prior to Troy University, she served as the Faculty and Assistant Dean for Development, School of Nursing for the University of Alabama in Birmingham; Fellow and Assistant to the President, University of Alabama in Birmingham; Chairperson, Department of Nursing, Southeast Missouri State University; and Program Coordinator, Faculty, College of Nursing, University of Tulsa.

Dr. Curry’s community and professional service experiences include a wide range of leadership and service activities associated with leadership positions in higher education and the church.

Dr. Curry was born in Ft. Stockton, Texas. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of South Carolina, a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Alabama in Birmingham and a Doctor of Philosophy from Oklahoma State University. In May of 2002, she received a Master of Divinity from the University of the South, Sewanee. Dr. Curry and her husband, Dr. William Curry, have two daughters, Seana McGaha (age 29), who lives in Los Angeles, California and Laura Cornell (age 31), who lives in Norfolk, Virginia.
