TROY Dothan Campus to offer floral design classes

DOTHAN—The Continuing Education Center at Troy University’s Dothan Campus will offer a series of classes on the basics of floral design beginning in September.

Aliya Qureshi of Oriental Imports will host these creative, hands-on classes which will guide participants through the steps to create a floral project to take home.

Classes are scheduled during the morning or evening, with the first class set for Sept. 1, from 9 a.m. until noon. The same class will also be offered on Sept. 2, from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. During the first class, participants will learn how to design a garden-style arrangement using a combination of natural items and life-like silk greenery.

The second class will be Oct. 5 and 6 and will focus on a fall arrangement using silk flowers and greenery. The third class will be held Nov. 9 and 10 and will cover designs for a tabletop Christmas arrangement.
