TROY—The Troy University’s Political Science Club will gather on Thursday in an effort to foster a better understanding of the U.S. Constitution among students and members of the community.

Club members will be handing out pocket-sized copies of the Constitution at a booth in front of the Math and Science Complex on the Troy Campus in recognition of Constitution Day. The booth will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday.

Constitution Day was initiated in 2004 through legislation sponsored by Sen. Robert C. Byrd of West Virginia, who was concerned that American students lacked understanding of the Constitution.
