Montgomery Ballet to perform at TROY’s Davis Theatre on Oct. 30

MONTGOMERY—The Montgomery Ballet Company will return to Troy University’s Davis Theatre for the Performing Arts for “An Evening of Romance” on Friday, Oct. 30.

For a second consecutive year, the Montgomery Ballet will offer top-quality dancing close to home on stage at the Davis Theatre. This year marks the 51st anniversary of the Montgomery Ballet and its third year under the artistic direction of Elie Lazar.

“An Evening of Romance” will feature selections of classical and contemporary works from the Montgomery Ballet’s repertoire, including “Surrender 2 Love,” a passionate contemporary work set to Nuevo-Flamenco style music choreographed by Lazar.

“Surrender 2 Love” was originally created for the Joffrey Ensemble Dancers in New York City and has been performed in 24 different states.

The Montgomery Ballet is presented as part of the Davis Theatre’s University and Community Series. Other shows in the series include: “A Salute to Our Nation’s Veterans” featuring the TROY Symphony Band on Thursday, Nov. 12; “Down Memory Lane” with the Capitol Sounds on Friday, Feb. 26 and “From Big Band to Broadway” with the TROY Jazz Ensemble on Tuesday, March 30.
