TROY—The TROY Indian Student Association (ISA) will be holding Diwali, the “Festival of Lights,” for students and the public beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 2.

Diwali, a festival held in celebration of the Hindu New Year, will consist of cultural activities such as native dances and a fashion show displaying traditional Indian dress. Guests will also be provided a “taste of India” through a full-course Indian meal.

Khushbu Trivedi, ISA president, said the event showcases the Indian culture.

“Diwali is celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm in India,” she said. “We are celebrating this festival at TROY to give everyone a feel of how it is celebrated in our home country.”

The event will be held in the Trojan Center Ballrooms.

Tickets are $5 for students and the general public. Advanced tickets must be purchased by Oct. 31 through Trivedi at 334-434-2716 or Darshid Dalsanie at 334-492-2649.
