Capitol Sounds to present Big Band concert at TROY's Davis Theatre

MONTGOMERY—The Capitol Sounds Concert Band will perform music from the Big Band era on Friday, Feb. 26, at Troy University’s Davis Theatre for the Performing Arts.

“Down Memory Lane with the Capitol Sounds” will feature the music of the Greatest Generation, including songs from Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller and Harry James.

The concert will begin at 7 p.m. Single tickets are on sale now at the Davis Theatre office. All tickets are $10.

The Capitol Sounds Concert Band is an all volunteer, non-profit organization supported by the City of Montgomery Parks and Recreation Department. As the official band for the City of Montgomery, the Capitol Sounds frequently perform at events in and around central Alabama.

“Down Memory Lane with the Capitol Sounds” is presented as part of the Davis Theatre’s University and Community Series. The series will conclude on March 30 with a performance by the Troy University Jazz Ensemble.

The Davis Theatre is located in downtown Montgomery at 251 Montgomery Street.
