TROY—Due to construction of the new dining facility at Troy University, several roads on campus will be closed and both vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be rerouted beginning Monday, May 10 until Aug. 1.
Road closure: University Avenue from McKinley Drive to Luther Drive at Sartain Hall.
Traffic entering the University from South Brundidge Street via University Avenue will be rerouted at McKinley Drive toward Lake Lagoona.
Traffic entering the University from George Wallace Drive will turn right onto Luther Drive.
Road closure: Luther Drive between University Avenue and Collegedale Street will be closed and abandoned.
Road closure: Luther Drive from the large parking lot entrance to University Avenue will be closed. Both parking lots adjacent to Alumni Hall (immediately behind and the large lot immediately across from Alumni Hall) will remain open and accessible.
Collegedale Street from George Wallace to Park Street will remain open, however, angled parking spaces along Collegedale Street will be closed and fenced pedestrian walkways will be established in those areas.
Pedestrian traffic: During the closure period, temporary, fenced pedestrian walkways will be established to facilitate pedestrian traffic around the construction zone. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution in navigating in and around the Troy Campus.
Parking Lot closure: A large portion of the parking lot immediately behind the Hawkins-Adams-Long Hall of Honor, John M. Long Hall and Smith Hall will be closed for the duration of the construction period.
Signage and barricades will be installed on Monday, May 10.
