DOTHAN—The Troy University Wiregrass Alumni Chapter presented scholarships to a group of TROY students on Thursday, July 29, at the Dothan Campus.

The six students represented both incoming freshman and current students. They each received a $1,500 scholarship funded by proceeds from the Wiregrass Alumni Chapter’s annual golf tournament.

The recipients were selected by the chapter’s scholarship committee from a pool of applicants.

Chapter president Scott Childers made the presentations and congratulated each of the recipients.

“We look forward to your future successes,” Childers said. “As alumni, we took a lot of valuable experience from our time at TROY and we hope you will one day look back with as much pride as we do.”

This year’s recipients were:

  • Joseph Pruett, a graduate of Dothan High School
  • Abigail Goolsby, a TROY sophomore from Dothan
  • Megan Yarbrough, a TROY graduate student currently teaching at Wicksburg Elementary School
  • Lindsay Lambert, a Dothan High School graduate
  • Chris Brooks, a Geneva High School graduate
  • Cidney Peel, a Slocomb High School graduate
