Dr. William Glasser to conduct workshop at TROY Phenix City Campus

PHENIX CITY—Internationally recognized psychiatrist Dr. William Glasser will conduct a day-long training workshop for counseling professionals at Troy University’s Phenix City Campus on Saturday, Sept.18.

Glasser will present “Counseling with Choice Theory: The New Reality Therapy” from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in room 130 of the education building. Participants in the session will be eligible to receive 5.5 continuing education contact hours.

The early registration fee is $125 for professionals and $60 for students. A box lunch is included. Early registration ends on Sept. 14.
The event is sponsored by the TROY Department of Counseling and Psychology and the Center for Continuing Education.

Glasser is best known as the author of “Reality Therapy,” a method of psychotherapy he created in 1965 that is now taught internationally. Other books by Glasser include “Schools Without Failure” and “Choice Theory.”

In 2005, Glasser was presented the prestigious Master Therapist designation by the American Psychotherapy Association and the Life Achievement Award by the International Center for the Study of Psychiatry and Psychology.

He will be joined during the workshop by his wife, Carleen Glasser. She has 25 years of experience in education, 12 of which were as a school counselor specializing in group work with all ages.
