DOTHAN—State representative Donnie Chesteen will deliver the keynote address to graduates at Troy University’s Dothan Campus during the fall commencement ceremony on Sunday, Dec. 12.
The ceremony will begin at 3 p.m. at the Dothan Civic Center. Two hundred students will receive graduate and undergraduate degrees this semester at the Dothan Campus.
Chesteen was elected in November to represent District 87 in the Alabama House of Representatives. He is a 1975 TROY alumnus and a lifelong resident of Geneva County.
Chesteen is a former teacher and football coach at both Geneva High School in Hartford and Geneva County High School in Geneva. He later worked as a medical sales representative until his retirement in 2009.
He currently serves as head football coach at Samson High School.
Chesteen holds bachelor and master’s degrees in physical education from TROY. He and has wife, Stephanie, have been married 30 years and have two children.
