TROY – Troy University’s Procurement Technical Assistance Center will conduct its first-ever online briefing of a new U.S. Small Business Administration program targeting women-owned businesses.
The briefing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Feb. 15 and requires pre-registration for access to the webinar. There is no charge for the program.
An SBA rule effective Feb. 4 expands federal contracting opportunities for women-owned small businesses and helps to ensure a level playing field on which women-owned companies can compete for federal contracts. A statutory goal is that five percent of federal contracting dollars go to women-owned small businesses.
Judy Callin, a consultant with TROY’s Small Business Development Center, said once participants preregister, an access code and telephone number will be supplied to participate in the conference. An SBA representative will also respond to questions from participants.
