TROY — Troy University’s 125th birthday celebration cookbook, containing hundreds of cherished recipes and special memories from throughout the TROY family, is on sale now. The new cookbook, “Celebrating 125 Years of Tastes and Traditions of Troy University,” is the third volume in a series issued by the University over the last two decades. However, the latest edition is unique, with a special emphasis on collecting favorite memories and stories about TROY from the alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends who contributed recipes to the book. “We wanted our cooks to submit recipes and favorite memories that reflect themes important to the life of the University,” said Janice Hawkins, TROY First Lady and chair of the cookbook committee. “Our hope was to make this more than just a cookbook; we want it to be a cherished keepsake.” The book contains nearly 900 recipes and is organized into chapters centered on important themes in the life of the University, including: Beginnings, which features recipes from the early days of the University; Traditions, featuring recipes that are part of family traditions and special events; Tailgating, featuring recipes perfect for cheering on the Trojans; and International, featuring world cuisine that highlights TROY’s global mission. Cookbooks are $25 each and can be purchased by contacting the Office of Development at 334-670-3608 or events@troy.edu
