TROY – Troy University and the Alabama Department of Revenue will sponsor a New Business Tax Workshop on the Dothan Campus on Dec. 5.

The free workshops, arranged by TROY's Small Business Development Center, will be offered from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m., and repeated from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Continuing Education Center in Adams Hall.

“If you are trying to start a business, or if you have been in business for years, you don't want to miss this program," said Sandra Lucas, the Center's director. “There's no one better to explain ‘the why, the when, the where, the how, and the who' other than the tax experts who examine submitted tax forms."

ADOR staff members will address sales tax, property tax and withholding tax topics during the workshops, which offer an excellent opportunity to ask tax questions and network with resource representatives and other participants.
