Phenix City Public Schools superintendent to address TROY graduates

PHENIX CITY - Dr. Rodney S. Hinton, the interim superintendent of Phenix City Public Schools, will deliver the keynote address to Troy University graduates on Friday, May 30, during a joint spring commencement ceremony for the Phenix City Campus and the Columbus/Fort Benning site.

The ceremony will be held starting at 7 p.m. inside the Columbus Civic Center. Approximately 250 students will receive degrees this spring at TROY's Phenix City and Columbus locations.

Dr. Hinton has served as a teacher on the secondary and university levels, as an elementary and secondary principal and as a director of curriculum and instruction on the central office level.

He joined the WC Bradley Co. in 1984, eventually serving as the Vice President of Corporate Human Resources and later CEO for the Games Divisions and a member of the Board of Directors. He left WC Bradley Co. in 1993 to join Russell Athletics, where he worked as Vice President of Licensing Products. From there he worked in various leaderships positions in the sporting goods industry, retiring in 2010 from Jordan Outdoor Products—also known as Realtree—from his position as Chief Operating Officer/General Manager.

Dr. Hinton holds bachelor, master and doctorate degrees in education from Auburn University. He continues to work as a consultant to businesses and schools.
