TROY - Dr. Mark Tillman has been named interim dean of the College of Health and Human Services at Troy University.

Tillman, who most recently chaired the Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion, takes over the reins from Dr. John Miller, who has served in the interim capacity for the past year. Miller, the college's associate dean, will focus on those responsibilities and launching the University's doctorate program in Sport Management.

"Dr. Tillman's academic and administrative experiences at TROY and at the University of Florida enable him to provide the leadership required for the college during the transition period," said Dr. Earl Ingram, Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.

Tillman earned both bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Florida in engineering mechanics, specializing in biomechanics, and completed a doctorate in health and human performance with a specialization in biomechanics in 1999, also at Florida.

A national search for a permanent dean for the college is currently under way.
