Confucius Institute at Troy University celebrating 10th anniversary of organization

A number of events are being sponsored by the Confucius institute at Troy University, Alabama's only with a statewide mission, in recognition of the Confucius Institute's 10th anniversary worldwide.

Sept. 25: the CI at TROY will be celebrating with its Confucius Classroom at Montgomery's LAMP school from 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Students will be involved with CIT activities in the gymnasium beginning at 12:30 p.m. Events include:

  • Taichi Show and Chinese Fitness Dance
  • The Chinese Experience and Taste of Lamp (parents are invited to attend).

Sept. 26: On the Troy Campus, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on the Quad near Bibb Graves Hall, CIT will host the Chinese Cultural Experience, including dancing, music, paper cutting, singing, a calligraphy contest, and free snacks. At 5:30 p.m., CIT and the Chinese Students and Scholars Association will co-host a banquet in the Trojan Center Ballrooms to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival, the 10th anniversary of Global Confucius Institute Day and the seventh anniversary of the Confucius Institute at TROY.

Sept. 27: The Chinese Language Research Forum with the Alabama Chinese Teachers Association will be conducted on the Montgomery Campus from 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Oct. 2: Beijing Jiaotong University Martial Arts Troupe will present its Martial Arts Show on the TROY CAMPUS from 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. in the Claudia Crosby Theater. The show is free and open to the public.

Oct. 3: Beijing Jiaotong University Martial Arts Troupe will present its Martial Arts Show on the MONTGOMERY CAMPUS from 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. in the Davis Theater. The show is free and open to the public.
