PHENIX CITY - The President and CEO of CB&T of East Alabama, Wade M. Burford, will deliver the keynote address to Troy University graduates in Columbus on Friday, May 29.
The spring commencement ceremony for the Phenix City Campus and the Columbus/Ft. Benning Site will be held starting at 7 p.m. at the Columbus Georgia Convention & Trade Center. About 150 students will receive degrees during the ceremony.
Burford started his career with Columbus Bank and Trust as a part-time teller in 1977 before rising to several leadership positions, including serving as a branch manager and division head. He has served as President/CEO of CB&T of East Alabama since 2010.
Burford is a graduate of Columbus State University and the Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University. As an active civic leader, Burford holds positions on a number of local boards of directors, including the Phenix City-Russell County Alabama Chamber of Commerce, the United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley and the Juvenile Family and Dependency Drug Court Advisory Board.
Burford is married to the former Dorothy Ray and they have a son, Chris, and a daughter, Morgan.
