Sculptor Erik Blome to restore Rosa Parks statue on Thursday

MONTGOMERY - Noted sculptor Erik Blome will visit the Rosa Parks Museum on the Troy University Montgomery Campus on Thursday Nov. 19, to restore his statue of Rosa Parks seated on the bus bench. The restoration work will take place in the loading dock area behind the Museum. Entrance to the loading dock is off of Moulton Street. Mr. Blome will be available for interviews at 11 a.m. as he works on the statue.

The statue, currently on display in the museum's gallery, will be relocated to the museum's atrium once the work is complete. Blome's statue has been a popular attraction for visitors since the museum opened in 2000.
