MONTGOMERY – Amy Waters of Montgomery has joined the staff of Troy University's Montgomery Campus as Director of Community Outreach, Dr. Lance Tatum, Montgomery Campus Vice Chancellor, has announced.
A public relations, marketing and fundraising professional with more than 14 years of experience, Waters most recently served as senior market manager for community engagement with the American Cancer Society. A TROY alumna, Waters earned her bachelor's degree in marketing, management and research from the University’s Montgomery Campus.
In her new position, Waters will cultivate and sustain relationships within the Montgomery community, oversee volunteer and community outreach efforts of the Montgomery Campus, identify and cultivate corporate and community partnerships and work in conjunction with the University's media relations.
"We are extremely excited about Amy joining our Montgomery staff," Dr. Tatum said. "A strong focus in the last year was to give greater attention to programming on the Montgomery Campus. Amy's experiences in the non-profit sector, along with her network of area professionals and organizations, will provide an additional voice to the River Region on the outstanding programs and activities available through Troy-Montgomery."
In addition to her work with the American Cancer Society, Waters has previously served as development director for the Brantwood Children's Home, director of public relations for the Association of County Commissions of Alabama, south central regional coordinator for Children's Hospital of Alabama and media buyer for LWT Communications (Stamp Idea Group). Amy has been a volunteer and community organizer in Montgomery for years. She currently serves on the total resource campaign with the Chamber of Commerce of Montgomery, a committee member on the Relay for Life event in Montgomery, has served on the board of Child Evangelism Fellowship, is a past ambassador for the Chamber of Commerce of Montgomery, and has served on several committees at her church.
